1. Information we collect
The information PujaKaaj receives depends on how you use the website. You choose what to provide in account, profile, booking, and consultation forms.
Customer accounts and profiles
Customer registration and profile forms may collect your name, email address, mobile number, and, if you add it to your profile, postal address, city, state, and PIN code. Supabase Auth manages account sign-in. The application associates activity with your account ID and may use basic account metadata such as your name and account role.
Pandit registration and profiles
Pandit registration may collect a name, email, phone and WhatsApp number, date of birth, gender, address, city, years of experience, languages, and services offered. The application also asks for an Aadhaar number, a profile photo, and an uploaded identity or KYC document for application review. PujaKaaj records application, approval, and verification status and may keep administrative review notes. Public Pandit pages can show profile details such as name, photo, city, experience, languages, services, and ratings.
Booking and consultation information
A booking can include your name, phone, email, selected puja, whether it is online or at home, requested date and time or a Muhurat consultation request, service address, city, PIN code, optional location coordinates, special instructions, selected Pandit (where applicable), booking and assignment status, amount, and the payment method and status recorded by the booking flow. Muhurat chats include message text, sender, time, and the related customer, Pandit, and booking identifiers.
If you contact support by email, PujaKaaj receives the address and the information you include in that message.
2. Address and location
For an at-home puja, you can enter a city, PIN code, and address yourself. If you choose the current-location option, your browser asks for permission to provide a location. PujaKaaj uses the resulting latitude and longitude to look up an address and may save those coordinates with that booking. PujaKaaj does not use this booking feature for continuous background tracking.
The Temple Finder can use a location you provide or your current location to search for nearby temples. The Sankalp Guide can use entered coordinates or current location for Panchang results. These tools send the location needed for the requested result to the relevant mapping or Panchang service described below. If you open a directions link, the destination is passed to Google Maps.
3. How information is used and shared
PujaKaaj uses information to:
- Create and maintain customer and Pandit accounts and profiles.
- Receive, schedule, assign, update, and support online and at-home puja bookings.
- Review Pandit applications and identity or KYC documents.
- Enable Muhurat consultation messages and communicate finalized dates and times.
- Send booking, assignment, account, and service notifications.
- Respond to support requests and protect the operation of the website.
When a Pandit is selected or assigned, PujaKaaj may share the customer details needed to perform the service, such as your name, contact details, puja, schedule, service address, and relevant instructions. Administrators may access booking and application details to manage bookings and review Pandit applications. Pandit KYC information is collected for review and is not intended to appear on public profile pages.
PujaKaaj does not sell personal information for advertising. Information may also be disclosed when needed to respond to a valid legal request, address a security issue, or protect the safety and rights of users or PujaKaaj.
4. Service providers
The website uses service providers to operate features you request. Depending on the feature, information may be processed by:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, uploaded files, and real-time booking or Muhurat updates.
- Resend to deliver booking, assignment, and other service emails.
- Shubh.live for Panchang and festival data. A request may include the relevant date or year and coordinates.
- OpenStreetMap services, including Nominatim and Overpass, for address lookup, place search, and nearby temple results. These services receive the location or search term needed for the feature.
- Google when a Pandit chooses Google sign-in, or when you open a Google Maps directions link.
- Your browser, operating system, and their push-notification services when you enable web push notifications.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. The current application code does not identify an advertising or analytics provider.
5. Payments
The direct booking screen currently records a selected payment method (UPI, card, or cash) and a payment status on the booking. The application code reviewed for this policy does not show an integrated payment gateway or a form that collects card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, banking passwords, or one-time passwords. PujaKaaj therefore does not identify a payment provider for handling those credentials. Do not send sensitive payment credentials to PujaKaaj by email or chat.
A payment status shown by the website is a booking record and should not be treated as confirmation that a payment processor has completed a transaction. If a payment provider is added, this policy will be updated to identify the relevant processing.
6. Authentication and account security
Supabase Auth handles email and password sign-in and the Google sign-in option offered to Pandits. PujaKaaj uses an account ID and associated profile information to connect you with your bookings, messages, and notifications. Do not share your password or sign-in codes with anyone.
7. Notifications
PujaKaaj may store in-app notifications and whether you have read them. If you allow browser notifications, the website registers a push subscription associated with your account so it can send booking or consultation updates to that browser. The browser subscription includes a delivery endpoint and technical subscription values. You can deny permission or turn off notifications in your browser or device settings; doing so does not close your PujaKaaj account. The website may prompt for permission after you sign in.
8. Cookies and browser storage
The application uses browser storage for basic site functions. Local storage can hold your language preference, Supabase Auth session, and settings or progress for tools such as the Jaap Counter and Puja Reminder. Session storage temporarily holds booking selections and customer details while you move through booking steps, along with limited navigation state such as the most recent booking ID. The project code does not define advertising or analytics cookies.
You can clear browser storage in your browser settings. Clearing it may sign you out, reset saved tool settings, or remove in-progress booking details.
9. Data security
PujaKaaj uses account authentication and role checks for account and administrative features, and relies on Supabase for hosted authentication, storage, and database services. Keep your login details private and use a secure device. No website or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Data retention
PujaKaaj retains account, booking, message, notification, and Pandit application information for as long as it is needed to operate the account and services, manage open or past bookings, provide support, and maintain appropriate business records. The current website does not provide a self-service account deletion feature or a published automatic deletion schedule. Storage and delivery providers may also retain information under their own policies.
11. Your choices and data requests
You can review or update customer profile details from your account. You may also contact PujaKaaj to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask for help closing an account. We may need to verify that you control the account before acting. Some information may need to remain available while a booking is active or for record-keeping and security purposes. You can manage browser push permission through your browser or device settings.
12. Children’s privacy
PujaKaaj does not have an age-verification feature and is intended for adults arranging services. A parent or guardian should provide information for a child as part of a family booking. If you believe a child’s account or contact information was submitted without appropriate permission, please contact PujaKaaj so we can review the request.
13. Changes to this policy
PujaKaaj may update this policy when website features or information practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with its effective date. Please review this page from time to time.
14. Contact PujaKaaj
